Terms of use
Last updated 6 October 2026. These terms cover use of this dead pixel test. They are a plain-language account of how the site is offered. They are not legal advice about a screen you bought, and they do not reduce rights that the law says cannot be reduced.
The site
The site is a free browser page. It shows solid colours, a locating grid and, if you choose, a small flashing box. It is independent of any screen manufacturer, retailer, Google and Amazon. There is no account.
The test is a visual check
The page does not measure the panel electronically. It does not certify that a display is fault-free or faulty. A dot can be hidden by brightness, a steep viewing angle, scaling, a dirty surface, or a browser that cannot cover the whole panel. A clear run does not prove the panel is perfect. A dot you can see is something to write down and compare with the warranty for that model. Decisions about replacement belong to the retailer and the manufacturer, not to this site.
The fixer and flashing light
The stuck-pixel fixer flashes a small box several times a second. Flashing light can trigger seizures in some people, including people with no previous history of epilepsy. It does not start until you press “I understand, start” after reading the warning. If your device is set to reduced motion, a second confirmation is required. Stop is on screen for the whole run.
You use the fixer at your own choice. It often does nothing. It is not a repair for dead pixels, hot pixels, burn-in, cracks or pressure damage. Do not leave it running past the timer, and do not use it on an OLED panel as a general exercise. Stop at once if you feel unwell.
Do not press, rub or apply suction to the screen. The site will not ask you to. Pressure can crack a panel, and that damage is outside what this tool is for.
Warranty information
Anything the site says about pixel policies or the Consumer Rights Act 2015 is general. It is not a quote from your warranty and not a prediction of a refund. Read the terms for your model, and take a UK consumer problem to the retailer. Citizens Advice publishes practical steps.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the site, attempt to break the host, or present the page as an official test from a manufacturer. Do not rely on it as a medical device. It is not one.
Advertising and affiliate links
Spaces on the page are reserved for adverts. No advert loads in this version. If Google AdSense is added later, it will load only after an advertising consent choice, and for UK and EEA visitors a Google-certified consent platform is expected to replace or supplement the banner. See the privacy policy.
There are no product links today. If Amazon Associates links are added, they will be labelled. As an Amazon Associate the operator would earn from qualifying purchases. That sentence applies only if and when those links exist.
Intellectual property
The text and the layout of this site are covered by copyright. You may link to the pages. You may not copy the text onto another site and present it as your own guide. The test method — showing solid colours — is not something we claim to own.
Liability
The site is provided as-is, free of charge. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for a fault the test did not show, for a warranty claim that is refused, for a purchase you make after reading the page, or for discomfort from the fixer after you chose to start it.
Nothing on this page excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any duty or right that the law says cannot be excluded. If you are a consumer in the UK, your statutory rights are not affected.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also use your local courts, and any mandatory consumer protection there still applies.
